The core of Indigo is built upon young veteran Arlen Music talent such as bandleader Dan Nicholson, and vocalists Russell Pike and Marquecia Jordan. The balance of the ensemble was hand-selected by producer Ken Arlen to bring an exciting presence and youthful energy that our clients have come to expect from an Arlen Music experience.
As the featured bandleader, arranger and saxophonist, Dan Nicholson is well known for his personable and energetic style and his ability to call a great dance party while incorporating a client's vision with a fun and easy flair. He also has instilled a fresh yet authentic sound to the full spectrum of Indigo’s repertoire through his spectacular and exciting arrangements.
Indigo officially launched in late 2009, and has wasted no time in creating a major impact on the special event scene in Chicago. Indigo was the featured entertainment for the Lyric Opera and Bear Necessities gala fundraisers in February in front of a combined 1,500 guests, and looks forward to a full slate of performances in 2010.
Jessie Arlen at SPACE
In January, Jessie Arlen, winner of Downbeat Magazine's Best Jazz Vocalist Student Award, released her debut album "Certain Surprise." The CD release party was held at SPACE in Evanston, IL where even the standing room was packed. "Jessie brings an amazing originality to everything she does. She mesmerizes her audience with spirited lyrics, raw emotions, and a powerhouse vocal talent." Jessie lives in New York where she is pursuing her career while studying at the New School for Jazz and Contemporary Music. Other upcoming concerts include an appearance at the Auditorium Theatre Cabaret Series on July 17th.
Her next showcase will be in Toronto at Lula's on June 23rd.
Fifth Annual New Year's Eve at the Bellagio
Ken Arlen's 21 enjoyed its fifth consecutive invitation to perform at the prestigious Bellagio in Las Vegas on New Year's Eve! Joined by Arlen Music's Sirens, the show was an extravaganza that rang in the new year with gusto! The star-studded audience danced with abandon far into the first hours of 2010!
