As one of the hottest dance bands in Chicago, Indigo has been featured on New Year’s Eve at the Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino in Las Vegas and has earned repeat performances at premier events in Chicago including the Lyric Opera and the Chicago Symphony Orchestra Opening Galas, among others. Indigo is built upon young veteran talent hand-selected by producer Ken Arlen to bring an exciting presence and exuberant energy that our clients have come to expect from an Arlen Music experience. As the featured bandleader, vocalist, and consummate entertainer, Kendall Nesbitt is well known for his versatile talent, professionalism, smooth style, and innate ability to call a great dance party while incorporating a client’s vision. Along with his illustrious Grammy-nominated background as a vocalist, keyboardist, drummer, producer, and songwriter, Kendall also instills a fresh and authentically soulful sound into the full spectrum of Indigo’s already stellar repertoire.

Dylan Rehm is a versatile trombonist who brings energy and excitement when he performs. As a performer he regularly has toured with Frankie Valli, playing over 125 cities over the last 7 years. He has performed with The Ojays, Aretha Franklin, Poi Dog Pondering, Juliana Hatfield, Kay Hanley, and Morgan James. He is also an educator, teaching a studio of over 40 students for the last 17 years and is the music director at Yorkfield Presbyterian Church in Elmhurst.
Dan Nicholson
Dan Nicholson is an accomplished bandleader and virtuoso musician hailing from Chapel Hill, North Carolina. Before making his home in Chicago, Dan attended the University of North Florida where he studied saxophone and flute under the legendary Bunky Green, who called Dan "a musical force to reckon with." Dan developed his bandleading skills on the East coast and in Chicago before he joined the Arlen Music organization four years ago as the lead arranger and music director for Front of House. Dan also serves as the lead saxophonist and soloist to the nationally renowned Chicago Jazz Ensemble. With a Master's Degree in composing and arranging from DePaul University, Dan creates spectacular and exciting arrangements for all of the Arlen Music bands, including the Ken Arlen Orchestra. Dan is well-known for his personable and energetic style, his fun and easy flair, and his ability to call a great dance party while incorporating a client's vision.
Sonya Major
Sonya Major is a versatile vocalist originally hailing from Ann Arbor, Michigan. She has a diverse music background which has helped her develop her skill set in a wide range of genres and styles. She has done professional theater, fronted a touring rock band, directed and arranged for multiple vocal ensembles, and has sung at notable venues such as Lincoln Center, and The Fox Theater in Detroit. Whether it’s rock music, jazz, or pop, Sonya’s vocal flexibility allows her to excel. She is thrilled to be sharing the stage with the other talented musicians of Indigo.
Rachel Robinson
Rachel Robinson is a Grammy Nominated singer, songwriter, composer, and producer with a mission to heal the world through music. A Chicago native, Rachel grew up in a household full of promising talent and professional musicians. At an early age, she demonstrated a high aptitude for music which allowed her many opportunities to work with prominent timeless musicians. She furthered her education in music and graduated with honors from Howard University. In addition to her work with artists such as Chance the Rapper, Tank and the Bangas, Marvin Hamlisch, Dr. Billy Taylor and the like, Rachel brings a unique artistic style to Indigo while being committed to serving the world through the healing power of music.
Wally Swiatly
Wally Swiatly was born to be on stage. While he has had much success as a singer/songwriter throughout his professional career, ranging from solo recording projects to national airplay of his original works on network television, he says that "...there is nothing like taking the crowd with you on a ride during a live performance." As a versatile tenor, Wally's vocal style mixes the best of R&B, country, and classic rock, whether the song demands a light, clean, or soulfully heavy tone. Wally considers Indigo the perfect opportunity to showcase the best music from a variety of genres to a live audience.
Chris Mahieu
A native of Chicago, Chris studied classical piano at the University of Illinois where he received his Bachelor's and Master's of Music degrees. Since moving back to Chicago, he has been a versatile pianist in the music scene, playing at such jazz and rock venues as the Chicago Jazz Festival, the Green Mill, the House of Blues, as well as often appearing an accompanist to many classical artists. Chris has backed up performers such as The Drifters, Lou Christie and has played with jazz greats like Johnny Frigo, Franz Jackson, and Redd Holt. As a contemporary keyboardist, Chris has a unique ability to capture the sound and feel of contemporary dance and club music. He is thrilled to bring his talent to the Indigo band.
Matt Thompson
Performing with the likes of Dick Oatts, Randy Brecker, Steve Houghton, Sheldon Berg, The New York Voices, The Mighty Blue Kings, Frank Catalano and Von Freeman, bassist Matt Thompson has been an active part of the professional music community since 1989. He received a Bachelor of Arts in 1998 from DePaul University. His performance experience spans from violin and contrabass in professional classical ensembles, to electric bass in jazz, rock, and pop contexts. As a producer, Matt has credits with The Mighty Blue Kings, Brian Deer, and Frisbie. As a session bassist, he has appeared on over 30 albums and has played on major motion picture soundtracks. Matt brings a solid rhythmic foundation and groove to the exciting sounds of Indigo!
Steve Gills
Known for his individual style and facility in countless genres, Steve is one of the most in-demand drummers in Chicago playing live and in the studio. After two years at Boston’s Berklee College of Music and a European tour with Virgin recording artist Inner City, Steve worked in Chicago with notable blues artists such as Sugar Blue and Dion Payton. From there, he branched out into everything from jazz to funk to rock to electronica and beyond, with artists such as Henry Johnson, Ken Chaney, MVP, Sumo, Eternalux, Martin Short, Ben Vereen, Chuck Berry, Michael McDermott, Cathy Richardson etc. From1997-2003 Steven was member of the multi platinum selling rock band Filter touring the world playing on both 'Title of Record' , 'The Amalgamut' and notably their top 10 hit single "Take a Picture". Steven has also found his way onto television, with appearances on Late Night with Conan O’Brien, Last Call with Carson Daly, MTV’s The Rock Show, The Tonight Show with Jay Leno and The Late Show with David Letterman in the United States, as well as Top Of The Pops in the United Kingdom.
Zoey Witz
Zoey has been a fixture on the Chicago music scene since 1997, playing rock, jazz, blues, country, R&B, pop and zydeco at renowned Chicago hotspots such as Buddy Guy's, House of Blues, Aragon Ballroom, Cubby Bear, Joe's, Andy's, Green Mill, Rosa's, Fitzgerald's, Jerry's, City Winery, and Lincoln Hall. Most recently he has been heard and seen all over the Midwest, the East Coast, Texas, and Louisiana playing with Zydeco legend CJ Chenier's band, including a slot at the 2015 New Orleans Jazz and Heritage Fest on the Blues stage. Zoey is also a member of the Nicholas Barron Band, which recently performed with Buddy Guy at his Legends club in the South Loop. Zoey is thrilled and honored to work with a talented, high energy band such as Indigo!
